RELEASE: New Technology agreement Combines Missouri agriculture and energy sectors to support jobs and economic development

Jefferson City, MO – Today, Ameren Missouri, Enginuity Worldwide and ECAP, LLC announced an agreement that will use cutting edge energy technology to create a biomass fuel to be used to generate renewable power in Missouri.

This agreement will allow ECAP with technology created by Enginuity to build multiple production facilities that will create biomass fuel from crop residues, which burn cleaner than fossil fuels, further diversifying Missouri’s energy portfolio.

“We are encouraged by this new energy development in Missouri.  Missouri’s agriculture industry is one of the most productive in the world and to tap into it to create a renewable energy source makes good sense. Much needed jobs and economic development will be a direct result,” said MBEF Executive Director Irl Scissors.

The partners estimate hundreds of new jobs and a potential $40 million annual impact to Missouri’s rural economy.

“Generating energy from a cleaner source of biomass all within Missouri’s borders benefits our community and energy customers throughout our state,” said Scissors.
