Favors ISRS Legislation
To The Editor:
As a consumer, electric rate hikes are something that I’ve had to deal with several times over the years. They’re unanticipated and a frustration for rate payers all across our state.
For the last few months, we have heard a lot about Infrastructure Strengthening and Regulatory Streamlining legislation, commonly known as ISRS. In fact, it seems to be quite the debate across communities in Missouri.
ISRS seems like the solution for creating more predictable rates. If passed, ISRS has the power to allow investor-owned utilities to proactively finance maintenance and necessary infrastructure updates at the lowest possible rate. For consumers, that means knowing what to expect when opening the monthly electric bill. I hope the Missouri General Assembly votes in favor of this crucial legislation.
