eMissourian: Library Has Been a Great Resource

To The Editor:

I read about the recent rate shift proposed by the aluminum smelter Noranda, operating in Missouri’s boot heel. Their electric rate is already 60 percent lower than any resident in the state.

Now they want to shift over $500,000,000 to other Ameren customers. I used the rate calculator, from the group Missourians for a Balanced Energy Future, and the increase in my rate is about the same as the increase asked for by the Scenic Regional Library.

The Library has been a great resource to my family over the years. I hope it will be there for others, in the community, for years to come.

I know where I want my money going, and it’s not to some company in the boot heel.
