The Trump Tax Cuts, passed late last year, are slashing taxes for families and businesses across America, and now Missouri needs to make sure they are fully implemented! Thanks to President Trump, Missouri energy companies received a 14% tax cut that will help them to provide energy at more affordable rates for hard working Missouri families. Unfortunately, 100-year-old burdensome regulations in Missouri prevent energy companies from immediately cutting rates to return these tax savings to Missouri energy consumers.
Fortunately, legislation currently moving through the Missouri General Assembly would allow energy companies to give consumers an immediate 4-5% rate cut within 90 days of becoming law. Senate Bill 564 will quickly put more than $100 million back into the pockets of Missouri families and businesses, boosting our economy and creating jobs! It will also create one of the strongest rate caps in the country, capping rates at a 2.85% average annual increase, while building a smarter, more secure grid.
