St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Regulators waive efficiency charge for low-income Ameren customers

Ameren Missouri’s low-income customers will be exempt from monthly charges for an energy efficiency program.

The Missouri Public Service Commission approved an agreement between the St. Louis-based utility and several other customer groups on Thursday.

Customers that use one of several programs that help them with utility bills will no longer have to pay the charge, currently around $6 per month. The money serves as an incentive for Ameren programs encouraging energy conservation.
